"WOOAH" (우아) is a South Korean girl group under NV Entertainment. The group consist of five members: Nana, Wooyeon, Sora, Lucy and Minseo Originally as six members: Songyee left WOOAH on August 14, 2020. They debuted with their 1st Single Album "Exclamation" on May 13, 2020.

History[]

2020: Debut with "Exclamation", Songyee Departure, "Qurious"; Fandom Name Reveal[]

On May 13, 2020, WOOAH debuted with their 1st Single Album "Exclamation" and the title track "WOOAH" through their showcase.[1] On May 15, they released the album and the music video of the title track "WOOAH".[2]

On August 14, 2020, NV Entertainment announced that Songyee has left the group due to personal reasons.[3]

On October 29, Mnet announced that WOOAH are nominated for the "Best New Female Artist" award at MAMA2020.[4]

On November 3, WOOAH announced that they will make a comeback on November 24 with a new album.[5] On November 4, WOOAH announced the comeback schedule and album name - "Qurious".[6] On November 24, WOOAH released their 2nd single album "Qurious" and the title track "Bad Girl". On January 2, 2021 the music video for "I Don't Miss U" was released.[7]

On December 25, the group revealed through a Christmas VLIVE broadcast that their fandom name is WOW. The name's meaning refers to the "exciting moments 'Wows' will spend with WOOAH".[8]

2021: "Wish", "Shining Bright"[]

On May 7, 2021, it was announced that WOOAH will make a comeback with a the 3rd single album "Wish" through a teaser.[9] "Wish" was released on May 27 with "Purple" serving as the single's title track.[10]

On November 12, WOOAH, BAE173, and Ciipher released the collaboration single "Shining Bright". The single served as the campaign song for the 2021 World K-POP Concert (K-Culture Festival), which was held November 13–14 at KINTEX in Ilsan, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do.[11]

On December 17, NV Entertainment announced that WOOAH will be coming back on January 4, 2022 with a digital single.[12]

2022: "Catch the Stars", "Joy", "Pit-a-Pat"[]

On January 4, 2022, WOOAH released their 1st digital single "Catch the Stars".[13] During group's second anniversary, their company revealed that they will be making a comeback in June.[14] On May 20 it was announced that WOOAH will be releasing their first mini album, Joy, on June 9.[15] On November 6 it was announced that WOOAH will be releasing their first mini album, Pit-a-Pat, on November 16.

2024: "Blush", name change, "Unframed"[]

On January 11, 2024, it revealed that WOOAH would be releasing a new album in the first half of the year. On March 21, it was announced that the group will have their comeback in April. On March 27, it was confirmed that they will be coming back on April 8 with the song "Blush".

During the promotions of "Blush", the group's SNS accounts were rebranded from WOOAH to WOOAH, hinting at their name change. On May 24, it was confirmed that they would be coming back with a new album in June. On May 31, it was announced that WOOAH will be releasing their second mini album Unframed on June 17.
